Clothing

The clothing we chose to use in our production seems contuary to popular stereotypes. however our choice in clothing was representative of the true story past the introduction stage of the film, however, in the opening it does seem to be contuary to colour stereotypes used in media productions, as the victim is wearing black and the killer is wearing light colours. this contrasts as white is represented as innocent and black is represented with bad and evil.

our progress so far with editing

so far in our film creating process we have got our film edited with all the video queued up, have inserted all our titles for the title sequence, and are putting together our new sound track with the video. however having looked at the video and music we have decided to edit the music slightly to give more impact and therefore more shock factor towards the last scenes, hopefully this will create more of a contrast and set our group apart.

once completed we will finish fine tuning the levels and from there we will be able to move on. for our film we have been careful to line up or queue the music to the video to give the opening impact.

we have finished filming and have began editing, ordering and putting titles together. after putting the footage of the mac we had to got back and re film a few parts to better the continuity. to make the titles we used live type and used a font to correspond with the genre of the film.

we have uploaded the footage and seen changes that need to be made from fridays filming. we have began editing and also presented our powerpoint presentations to the class.

filming

On Friday 30th our group our group filmed for the day. We started at 9 and filmed until 3.45 to discuss what we had done so far, and what was left to do. We managed to film most of the opening but we need to film and re-film a few bits for example another attempt of the running over scene, alices car driving and establishing shot of alices car and darrel running into shot.  

changes to idea for storyline

we are going to start off at Darrells house with him putting his gun n his pocket to how he is bad. also, we have decided to do point of view shots to  show someone is watching him and create suspense. 

our work so far

we have decided on a name for the production company which is ' MKSS action productions'. we chose it as it is a merge of all our initials and it also stated the genre of our opening title sequence. we have also story boarded our the sequence of events in the film so we can visualize the order of events. also we can see what the final production might look like. From story boarding we have noticed some changes, to make the film have better continuity. we have started to make our own soundtrack on FL studios to make it more personal and original. the powerpoint we have made states all the things we have decided so far such as the age rating for the film and locations etc. ordering our thoughts makes deciding on details of the film easier and more organised. we have also looked trough previous action sequences to gain ideas on how to film our crash sequence and make it dramatic without being dangerous.

we made a powerpoint of our pitch to a production company that we want to finance our film. alice and danielle did the slides on development and production stages and darrell and joel worked on the distribution.

analysis of fight club

We have chosen to look at Fight Club for two main reasons. Firstly as they choose to start at the end of the film and use a flash back to tell the story. secondly, use of a voice over (non diegetic sound) to introduce the story. They have set it in an urban scene to give the film a sense of reality they show the main character brad pitt looking out of the window and showing the world going on as normal.

The use of a gun as the first image we see, draws your attention and creates interest. Due to low key lighting, this adds additional suspense and foreboding due to peoples fear of the dark and the potential unknown, that the dark holds. The use of dark colors also facilitates this sense of potential crisis for the characters.
The heavy bass tones adds a sense of pressure and pace that keeps the film moving with out the use of fast cuts to give it pace.
The font used is large enough to read easily and left up long enough for you to read it and are separate from the action, however, they also use a contemporary font to add effect, similar to the contemporary style of the film.

analysis of mean machine

starts by showing paramount pictures. shows the name of the production company SKA. takes james bond themes and encorperates into their own movie. shows danny watching the same scene as the audience. show him drinking a glass of whiskey and the moves onto a bottle and gets inside his car. at which point the music starts and the titles show on screen.showing the production team "Matthew vaughn" its also shows the associations and it also shows the star "Vinnie Jones" they slide in from left to right and come out towards the screen. then there are lots of fast action shots between his car and the police which shows fast pace and excites the audience. you can tell danny has no respect for the law as he is above the speed limit and parks on the path outside a pub. the cops come inside n he makes a few remarks then he assults the two cops then the screen goes blank and the mood changes. A radio commentary tells the viewers what has happened.

the story sequence will take place in reigate train station car park as it is near enough that if there is a mistake it can be re-filmed and as a location it looks a bit rough

it is present day action film and to add suspense we will film in semi-darkness
